The Future is Now- Imagine where we can be in another 15 years…

Email Updates

I just got a whiff of this video that chronicles a set of commecials that appreard in the mid 90's regarding technology. They used to get me so excited because that the time I was selling web sites. Actually they were called Virtual Yellow Pages and were suppose to be a directory of sorts modeled after the yellow pages.

In the following commecial circa 93 or so they reference EZ Pass, Flat Screens (big ones like the one in my living room) video conference calls, remote vitual meetings (did that twice this afternoon) and lots more.

Watch the video and leave me comment, let me know what you think.

YOU WILL

I love the part about sending faxes that's one thing a lot of "futuristic" movies/ads missed the mark on (Back to the Future II had it all over the place), but it's fascinating to see how spot on a lot of "science fiction" can come to fruition.

It's amazing how technology has moved in the past 10 years or so. Back then, I would have laughed if someone told me that I would be carrying a small mobile with which I could have video conferencing and could take pictures and play music.

I used to work for AT&T before they began outsourcing and cutting all of our jobs. You have to admit though, they have exceptional advertising campaigns. The base of operations are more down to earth, cubicle style, kind of dirty / messy / etc. In fact, I didn't even work for AT&T, but one of their dummy companies they run to cheat on their taxes. LOL!

Watched the UTube video of the ads in the 90's. It shows how far we've come! It's very exciting. I happen to love technology. When I worked in the Reagan White House on the Advance Team, Compaq gave us this new invention called a laptop to try out. Remember when they had orange letters on a gray screen and could only type words? We were grateful to have it! As we traveled from city to city, I could get work done on the plane. At that time it was revolutionary! Thanks, Maurice, for posting those ads for us to watch. Great job AT&T! Tamara Mack

Who would have thought that video conferencing & touch screen could work these days? I wonder what's ahead of us in 10 years to come.
